Giving

At St. James, part of our Mission Statement includes ‘igniting a passion for Jesus.’ We believe that a very important part of this is enabling the growth of individuals into mature, dynamic servants and stewards of the Lord — ‘servant’ or ‘steward’ being the key word there!

Prayer: Regular prayer keeps the Holy Spirit in control of our daily lives!
Study: We believe that good stewards need to know what the Lord says.
Counsel: In order for us to be strong stewards, we must have the friendship of other Godly peers, to keep us grounded.
Faith Pledge: Pledging stewardship to the mission of Christ and his church is not only scripturally based, but also is an active way for us to demonstrate trust and build humility, by acknowledging and glorifying God. We see it as a promise to give back to God who has so freely given blessings to us, as we grow in
 faith and are blessed.

We believe that a pledge towards stewardship is a humble contract, directly between you and God. By pledging, you acknowledge that He is your personal God and savior and that you are His steward, whom He has created and sent to do His work! Given the private and spiritual nature of your pledge, we encourage you to spend some time in prayerful consideration for what you are called to return to God in service to His kingdom. Stewardship can come from your time, skills, current income and other active ways of worship! As you are blessed, we also encourage you to increase your gifts to the kingdom, until you’re invested in a ministry or other tithe to which God has led you through prayer!
